Our 4-day Kidepo Wonders Safari tour is a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and history. The tour takes you on a journey through Kidepo Valley National Park, one of the most remote and least-explored parks in Uganda. You will have the opportunity to observe the diverse wildlife, including the big five, as well as experience the unique culture of the Karamojong people, who call this region home.

 

Additionally, the tour includes a visit to the genocide memorials in Northern Uganda, which offer a sobering reminder of the country’s troubled history. This 4-day Gorilla safari takes you to Volcanoes national park home to 10 gorilla families. Also, Hike to the graveyard of Dian Fossey an American primatologist who lost her life to save mountain gorillas that were on the verge of extinction.

 

Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda & transfer to volcanoes national park
On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for an overnight .in the morning start the journey through the beautiful rolling hills of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay in Gorillas Nest Lodge or Kinigi Guest House HB

 

Day 2: Gorilla tracking
After an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters with packed lunch and water. A briefing from the warden on the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ while gorilla tracking. Thereafter enter the jungle in search of the giant primates. Gorilla Trekking through steep and slippery Virunga slopes is strenuous and takes 2-8 hours depending on the gorilla’s location so the use of a porter would come in handy. You are allowed 1 hour with the gorillas on finding them and see them feed, nest, and nurture if the group has infants you will be amazed at how similar to humans they are. Return to the lodge, or you can visit, Iby’iwachu cultural village. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorillas Nest Lodge or Kinigi Guest House FB

 

Day 3: Hike to Diana Fossey’s Graves
After an early morning, breakfast goes for a hike to Dian Fossey graveyard situated at the former Karisoke Research Center. It’s at this center that Dian Fossey spent about 20 years studying and documenting Mountain Gorillas. The trek to the site is quite spectacular, as you pass through thick bamboo forest and afro montane habitats, with crisscrossed trails of tracks of forest buffalo and elephant! Expect to see all sorts of wildlife on your way up and down to the graves, nestled between the beautiful volcanic peaks of Karismbi and Bisoke. Overnight at Kinigi Guest House or Gorillas Nest Lodge. Day 4: Departure
After breakfast transfer to Kigali. Depending on your departure flight, you can go for a city tour with visits to Genocide Memorial sites like Gisozi, Nyamata, and Ntarama, lunch in Kigali, and later transfer to the Airport where the tour ends.
